Archbishop Peter Serves in the Far Caves

On Saturday, May 19/June 1, 2019 His Eminence, Archbishop Peter of Chicago & Mid-America, served Divine Liturgy in the church of Venerable Theodosius in the Far Caves of the Kiev Caves Monastery. His Eminence is visiting Kiev to strengthen the ongoing relationship between the Kyiv Theological Academy and the Pastoral School of the Diocese of Chicago & Mid-America. Also serving with His Eminence were Archpriest Gregory Joyce, Dean of the Pastoral School, and Protodeacon Alexander Kichakov. Singing and serving at the Divine Liturgy were clergy and students of the Kyiv Theological Academy. Following the Divine Liturgy Archbishop Peter thanked Bishop Sylvester, Rector of the Academy, and all those that made it possible for him to serve the Divine Liturgy for the first time in his life in one of the cave churches of the monastery. The evening before, in preparation for serving the Divine Liturgy, His Eminence prayed in the Trapeza Church of the Lavra, named in honor of the Venerable Anthony & Theodosius.
