At St. Panteleimon's in Minneapolis, the sacrament of Holy Unction was served in front of the Kursk Icon of Mother of God. There were several priests from different jurisdictions participating in this service including: V. Rev. Ioann (Magramm) (ROCOR), V. Rev. Ioann Voloschuk (Serbian Church), V. Rev. Richard Floam (OCA), Rev. Mircea Vasiu (Romanian Church), Rev. Antony Alekseyenko - Rector (ROCOR), Rev. Joseph Towne (ROCOR). The service was well attended and parishioners did not want to leave the presence of the Icon even after the Holy Unction service, so a Supplication Service with Akathist was served and faithful left well after midnight.
The following morning, the Icon visited St. Vasilije of Ostrog Serbian Orthodox Church for a Supplication Service with Akathist. This was the first visit of the Icon to the USA Nothernland/Iron Range community. In attendance were Rev. Timothy Sas (GOC), Rev. Kristian Petrovic (Serbian Church), Rev. Vladimir Lange (Serbian Church), Rev. Antony Alekseyenko (ROCOR), and Rev. Radomir Plavsic - Rector (Serbian Church). Parishoners from many different jurisdictiosn came to venerate the Icon. This visit really touched a lot of Orthodox Christians and strengthened their faith along their journey to Great and Holy Pascha.
Later that evening, the Icon visited All Saints Orthodox Church in Fargo, ND. This is the most Western parish in our diocese. Faithful came to pray in front of the Icon and stayed with it until it had to leave.
