Kursk-Root Visit to St. Benedict

In the evening of April 2, 2023, three days after their temple was struck by lightning, the precious Kursk-Root icon visited St. Benedict parish in Oklahoma City. Rector of the parish, priest Matthew Floyd, served an Akathist shortly after the arrival of the icon and then gave a short talk afterwards. For two hours following the Akathist, people from all of the Oklahoma City metro area Orthodox parishes venerated and prayed before the holy image. In attendance as well, was a group of young adults from the newly established Oklahoma City chapter of Orthodox Christian Fellowship.
