Archbishop Peter Participates in Holy Trinity Seminary Feast Day

The feast of the Three Hierarchs is a special day for seminary students in that these three great teachers of the faith, St. Basil the Great, St. Gregory the Theologian, and St. John Chrysostom, are considered the patron saints of those who study theology in order to put it into practice. That is, those who will serve the Holy Church using the knowledge they gain in their theological studies. This year His Eminence Archbishop Peter returned to his Alma Mater, Holy Trinity Seminary in Jordanville, NY, to celebrate this great feast there. As the senior hierarch present, Vladyka led the Divine Liturgy, along with Bishop Luke of Syracuse, the seminary Rector, Bishop Nicholas of Manhattan, and a multitude of clergymen, most of whom are graduates of Holy Trinity.

Following the Divine Liturgy and the festal trapeza a meeting was held of seminary graduates to re-inaugurate the seminary Alumni Association. During the meeting Archbishop Peter presented a check from the Pastoral School of Chicago & Mid-America for $1,000 to support this worthy effort. Vladyka is the President of our Pastoral School, which is designed specifically for those who cannot attend a residential seminary. As Holy Trinity seminary is the only residential seminary in the Russian Orthodox Church Outside Russia, the Pastoral School is very interested in seeing the seminary flourish.
