His Eminence, Archbishop Peter of Chicago & Mid-America
will preside at the solemn commemoration of the
99th Anniversary of the Martyrdom of St. John Kochurov,
one of the New Martyrs of Russia
who conducted much of his priestly service
in the present Diocese of Chicago & Mid-America,
and was the first priest martyr of the Bolshevik terror
that swept through the former Russian Empire
at the beginning of the 20th Century.
Vigil on Saturday, November 12 will be at 6:00 p.m.,
with Divine Liturgy on the feast day itself at 9:00 a.m.
All Divine Services will take place at the
Holy Virgin Protection Cathedral 1800 Lee St., Des Plaines, IL 60017.
The Divine Liturgy on this day will commence a one-year campaign in support of the Diocese's St. John Kochurov Society,
which exists to carry on St. John's legacy of support for youth programs and education,
mission parish life, and the monastic tradition of our Church.
