Pilgrimage to Holy Land
The trip to the Holy Land was a true blessing for me! There are no words that can describe how I felt when I walked the grounds that Lord Himself once marked with His footsteps! I was very privileged to be able to visit numerous holy locations and venerate wonder-working icons and relics of Saints. I was also blessed to approach the The Holy Sepulcure and the tomb of the Virgin Mary many times throughout my trip, with the culmination of participating in a midnight Divine Liturgy next to the Tomb of our Lord!

One of the highlights of this pilgrimage was meeting the Patriarch of Jerusalem – it was an honor to have a conversation with him and to experience his hospitality.

What was especially remarkable about this trip was the connection that was instantly present amongst our group of pilgrims who came from different parts of the world including Austria, Italy, Russia, and of course, the US.  For a couple of days we also had a visiting monk from Mount Athos who brought us joy with his presence.

Some of the fun activities that we experienced were swimming in the Sea of Galilee and The Dead Sea, as well as enjoying the delicious “St. Peter Fish” caught in the waters of the Sea of Galilee!

Overall, the trip to Jerusalem was amazing! Wherever Bishop Peter took us, we experienced genuine kindness, love and hospitality. Bishop Peter is a truly remarkable person whose love for the Holy Land could be easily sensed by all of us who had the honor to travel with him.
