Blessing of the New St. George Russian Orthodox Church and 25th Anniversary of the Parish
 
With the blessing of His Grace, Bishop Peter, Administrator of the Diocese of Chicago and Mid-America, St. George Russian Orthodox Church in Cincinnati, Ohio will celebrate its 25th Anniversary and the blessing of the newly-built Church on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 15-16, 2013. His Eminence, Metropolitan Hilarion, First Hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia, along with Bishop Peter and His Grace, Bishop George of Mayfield, will lead the hierarchical services for the feast of the Dedication of the Church of St. George in Lydda. The parish invites all interested clergy and faithful to join us for this joyous and blessed event.
 
The festivities begin on Friday, Nov. 15 at 1 p.m. with a seminar entitled, "Elements of ROCOR's Mission in the 21st Century." Speakers include Metropolitan Hilarion, Bishop George, priest Daniel Marshall, and Reader Lawrence (Kurt) Sander. 
 
The blessing of the new Church starts at 6:30 p.m. that Friday evening, followed by the Vigil for the Feast of St. George. Saturday morning the meeting of the Metropolitan will be at 9 a.m. After the liturgy, a festal meal will be held with a program dedicated to the parish anniversary.

Construction of the new St. George Church began a little over a year ago. Parishioners have participated in the process by painting as well as planting trees, bushes, and grass.
