Bishop Peter made his first archpastoral visit to the Kansas City area on Saturday, December 15th and Sunday, December 16th to visit Holy Protection Mission. Bishop Peter was accompanied by Protodeacons Vadim Gan and Alexander Kichakov and Subdeacon Nicholas Hantel. The Vigil on Saturday and Divine Liturgy were served with great solemnity to the joy of all in attendance. The mission chapel, provided generously by the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection in Prairie Village, KS was filled to capacity. Many faithful communed of the Holy Body and Blood of Christ. Bishop Peter encouraged the mission and its rector, Priest Zachary Rose, to continue in prayer and fellowship. After the Divine Liturgy on Sunday, a festive meal was hosted by the parish sisterhood. Everyone at the mission eagerly awaits Bishop Peter’s next visit.
