On Sunday, November 25, 2012, Reader Andrei Urtiew wed Ekaterina Golyshev. Reader Andrei is well known throughout the Chicago and Mid-America Diocese as the treasurer of the diocese and has traveled to many of the diocesan parishes as one of Bishop Peter's main assistants.
Ekaterina (Karina) and Andrei met last September in the parish she was attending in Moscow, where she was born and raised. After corresponding for several months and after another visit to Moscow, this time on an official trip with Bishop Peter, Andrei proposed to Karina.
The wedding was served by Bishop Peter, V. Rev. Gregory Joyce and Rev. Antony Alekseyenko, Protodeacons Vadim Gan and Alexander Kichakov and Deacon Leontiy Naidzions.
