ORPR Fundraising Lunch and Youth Outreach Presentation
On Sunday, May 13, members of the Diocesan Youth Camp ORPR hosted a fundraising lunch and Youth Outreach event at Holy Virgin Protection Cathedral in Des Plaines. During the meal, campers and camp leaders gave a presentation describing ORPR's program and inviting new participants and volunteers.
A total of thirteen members of ORPR, parents and volunteers worked in the kitchen on Saturday and Sunday to prepare the meal. The Diocesan Youth Camp, which is headed by His Grace Bishop Peter, as chairman of the board, thanks the Cathedral Sisterhood for this opportunity!
The campers began their presentation by singing the Preobrazhenskiy March, ORPR's hymn, which was originally the hymn of the Russian Imperial Guard. This was followed by an informational slideshow and many photos of camp life, then by a question and answer session for all those present. All Orthodox youth between the ages of eight and sixteen are invited to attend!
The Diocesan Youth Camp also has many exciting volunteer opportunities. For more information, or if you would like to donate to either the construction or scholarship funds, please look at the website:
