Three Hierarchs celebrate 25 years of the St. Sava School of Theology

On the feast day of St. Longin the Centurion, Saturday, the 29th of October, the Serbian Orthodox Church in North and South America celebrated twenty-five years of the St. Sava School of Theology.  Invited to participate, His Grace Bishop Peter concelebrated Divine Liturgy with Their Graces Bishop Longin of New Gracanica and Bishop Mitrophan of Eastern America.  They were joined by thirteen priests and four deacons, from both the Serbian and Russian Orthodox Churches.

The seminary choir of the St. Sava School sang the service in traditional hymnody, together with the cathedral's own choir.  Both sang beautifully, and Vladika was pleasantly reminded of his days as a student at the Theological Faculty of the Serbian Orthodox Church in Belgrade.

After the service, a festive meal was held in the church hall, at which Bishop Mitrophan, the rector of the Theological School, spoke.  During the course of its quarter-century existence, St. Sava's has graduated seventy students.  A joint alumni and student choir gave a concert to conclude the program.

His Grace was also asked to address the faithful, at which time he took the opportunity to congratulate Bishop Longin on the feast day of his patron saint, and to wish him Many Years!

Glory be to God in all things!
