2009 Fall Clergy Retreat Resolution - Russian


The clergy of the Chicago and Mid-American Diocese participated in the annual Fall Pastoral Retreat October 13 and 14 of this year in Carol Stream, IL.  28 parishes from 9 states were represented by 21 clergymen.  Reports were made regarding the Diocesan Youth, Church School and Music organizations, as well as the financial status of the Diocese.  A guest speaker, Fr. Peter Spiro, from the Greek Archdiocese, gave a presentation on “Clergy and Law Enforcement.” 

The retreat was held at St. Innocent of Moscow Church, which is located in a western suburb of Chicago.  The parish provided a warm and inviting atmosphere for serious discussions as well as fraternization among the clergy.  The sisterhood, led by Barbara Shukin, prepared delicious and fulfilling meals during the conference. 

The Retreat was held on the eve of the Cathedral  Feastday of the Holy Virgin Protection in Des Plaines.  The clergy attending the Retreat participated in the All-night Vigil and Divine Liturgy at the Cathedral.  For more on the Cathedral Feastday celebrations, please see http://english.holyvirginprotection.org/pokrov09.html

13-14 октября этого года духовенство Чикагской и Средне-Американской епархии собралось на ежегодный осенний съезд в Кэрол-Стрим, штат Иллинойс. На съезд приехал 21 представитель духовенства из 28 приходов, находящихся в 9 штатах.  Духовенство доложило об организации мероприятий для молодежи, церковных школ и музыкальных мероприятий, а также о финансовом положении епархии. Гость съезда, о. Петр Спиро из Греческой православной церкви, сделал доклад на тему «Духовенство и правоохранительные органы». 

Съезд проходил в храме Святителя Иннокентия Московского, расположенного в западном пригороде Чикаго. Прихожане храма создали теплую и гостеприимную атмосферу, как для серьезных дискуссий, так и для неформального общения духовенства. Сестричество храма, во главе с Варварой Щукиной, готовило для духовенства вкусные блюда. 

Съезд открылся в канун престольного праздника собора Покрова Божией Матери в Дес-Плейнс.
