On January 6/19th this year, the parishioners of St. Herman Orthodox Church went down with Christ to the Jordan to celebrate the feast of Theophany.  Many parishes bless water outdoors as part of the festal services celebrating the Lord's Baptism. At St. Herman's, though, we literally "go to Jordan", for Lake Odessa hugs the northernmost shore of Jordan Lake.   The blessing was performed in the village park near the small VFW memorial chapel.  The small group of parishioners was joined by a sizeable and reasonably attentive flock of ducks.
