With the blessing of Archbishop Peter the clergymen of the Michigan Deanery served the Great Blessing of Waters around the feast of the Theophany of the Lord over four of the largest fresh water lakes in the world. Priest Jesse Rimshas of the St. Jacob mission in Ishpeming conducted the blessing of Lake Superior, Priest Micah Chisholm of the St. Sebastian parish in Traverse City blessed Lake Michigan and Lake Huron, and Priest Colin Bower of the St. Vladimir parish in Ann Arbor blessed Lake Erie.
