On Sunday, August 1, the summer feast of St. Seraphim of Sarov, our parish in Lansing, Michigan celebrated its feast day. On that day the Divine Liturgy was led by the Dean of Michigan Parishes, Fr. Gregory Joyce. Also serving with Fr. Gregory was Deacon Vladimir Pyrozhenko from our Ann Arbor parish. Following the Divine Liturgy, at which almost everyone present partook of Holy Communion, the parish continued the celebration with a meal prepared by the parishioners.
The parish continues to work diligently to remodel the building that it purchased some years ago. Recent additions include an apartment for the future Rector, flooring in the chapel, and improvements to the classrooms. With God’s help and St. Seraphim’s prayers the parish hopes to soon install a new sign to attract even more of Lansing’s citizenry to God’s Church.
