Ordinations in Chicago on the Feast of St. John the Baptist

On the feast of the Nativity of St. John the Baptist, June 24/July 7, 2021, His Eminence Archbishop Peter led the Divine Liturgy at the Holy Virgin Protection Cathedral in Des Plaines, IL. Those serving with His Eminence on this day were:

On this day His Eminence tonsured Alexander Baskin (St. George Parish, Michigan City, Indiana) and Michael Marsh (St. Vladimir Parish, Ann Arbor, Michigan) as Readers, ordained Reader Jesse Rimshas (Sts. Sergius & Herman Monastery, Houghton, Michigan) and Reader Alexander Baskin as Subdeacons, ordained Subdeacon Jesse Rimshas as a Deacon, and ordained Deacon Colin Bower as a Priest.

Very many people from throughout the diocese and the cathedral parish attended the Divine Liturgy and the vast majority of those partook of the Holy Mysteries of Christ. Following the Divine Liturgy Archbishop Peter congratulated the new clerics and their families on the auspicious day. Many years was intoned and sung in English. At the conclusion of the liturgical festivities the newly ordained and their families joined Archbishop Peter at a local restaurant for a celebratory meal.
