Archbishop Peter Serves the Feast of the Kazan Icon in the Serbian Podvoriye in Moscow

On the feast of the Kazan Icon of the Theotokos, October 22/November 4, 2019 His Eminence, Archbishop Peter of Chicago & Mid-America, served the Divine Liturgy at the Apostles Peter & Paul Church in Moscow: the Representation Church (Podvoriye) of the Patriarch of Serbia. One of the two side altars of the church at the Serbian Podvoriye is named in honor of this icon of the Theotokos. This is also a national holiday in Russia.

Serving with His Eminence were His Grace, Bishop Longin of New Gracanica and Midwestern America, and His Grace, Bishop Anthony of Moravici, Rector of the Serbian Podvoriye. Accompanying Archbishop Peter on his travels in Russia, which are principally aimed at improving the relationship between our diocesan Pastoral School and theological schools in Russia are Emeritus Dean of the Pastoral School Archpriest Martin Swanson and the present Dean Archpriest Gregory Joyce. Both served at the Liturgy today, as well as Priest Michael Volzhanskii, cleric of the Holy Archangels Monastery in House Springs, MO and Deacon Peter Longan, cleric of St. Vladimir Church in Ann Arbor, MI, and many local Moscow clergymen. Following the feast day services Bishop Anthony hosted a meal for the gathered clerics in the Podvoriye’s beautifully restored facilities.
